TiECon 2013 was the maiden effort of the TiE Pune chapter last year & it was a mega success with over ​600 attendees & 40+ elite speakers. This year TiECon 2014 is being planned on Saturday, 5^th or 12th April with the theme "New Beginning". It is planned at a much larger scale with the objective of getting the entrepreneur community in & around Pune under one roof for a day to learn, share, participate and interact.

 I would like to share an effort by Mr.  Mr. Ashok Yadav ( in.linkedin.com/pub/ashok-yadav-aicwa-cisa-cia-cma/4/343/435  )

Mr. Ashok is local from Pune and is involved in many social projects. He is looking for your support for his to be launched project “Own a Cow”.  A person in city donates INR 30-40 K to this NGO and the NGO in turn will buy a cow, get insurance for cow and give it to a farmer in remote village of vidarbha. The NGO helps farmers to make earning from cow by ensuring the milk / manure are being bought and supplied to nearby town. This way whatever earning happens, the donor gets back his share on pre-agreed ratios.  I felt this model is very good as donor is supporting a farmer and getting money back ensures the model is self sustainable and donor can go on helping more and more farmers from the same money.

Ashok is also arranging a very nice, free of cost meditation facility open for all in Kharadi.

They are also planning a 2.5 acre meditation center in Saswad via a project called Swanand Ashram.  This is for children from city living in complete comfort and hardly getting any exposure to hardships being faced in villages. A detailed presentation is available on both projects.

Janwani , a Pune based NGO, working towards Solid Waste Management

Janwani , a Pune based NGO, has been working towards improving the efficiency of Solid Waste Management in the Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) since its inception in 2006. In 2011, we successfully planned and implemented the Zero Garbage Model in Katraj. The model is based on the concept of decentralization of processing of garbage resulting in lower transportation costs and also reduced garbage sent to landfill sites. To ensure that the decentralized processing, garbage needs to be segregated into wet and dry. The wet waste is locally processed in compost pits and biogas while the dry waste is recycled by the waste pickers. The model is environment friendly, economically viable  and socially justifiable.

Why do We need a Preventive Health Check-up?

• Two fifth(42%) of working class reported stress.  Very high level of stress were reported in persons with sedentary job (63%), especially in IT and BPO sectors.

• 46% respondents in stress were diabetics, 39% had heart problems, and 49% had a history of high blood pressure.

 Here is excerpts of our talk with Mr. Vinay Nathan, CEO and Co-Founder of Altizon Systems.

Having two patents awarded and 5 patents pending on his name in field of USB technologies associated with copy protection of software and data Vinay has over 13 Yrs of experience as Product Manager, Director Sales (US), VP Sales for India, APAC and MEA among various other roles.
