Bridge is honored to present the first acting workshop to be
conducted and mentored by an established and well known actor Mr. Lalit
Parimoo.
Discover the Actor in You!
This intense workshop is a fresh approach designed by
Acharya Lalit Parimoo based on the principles of Abhinaya Yog,
where the acting skills are combined with yogic techniques resulting in a
complete all round training required for an actor as a first step towards
performing for theatre, television or films. The
workshop is suitable for first timers and those with previous acting
assignments and who have completed fifteen years of age.

Contents
The
training includes Body movement with special classes of Yogasana, Voice and
speech, Emotional wellness where one learns to express one’s emotions, Study of
text, Scene-work from classical drama and modern drama. Rehearsals will be
recorded on camera and screened for self-assessment. Students shall participate
in a play at the end of the workshop.
An actor should understand, be aware and practice the
following which form the syllabus of this workshop:
PHYSICAL APPARATUS-BODY: Physical fitness is must for
an actor. Key Yogasanas will be practiced.
VOCAL APPARATUS: Participants will do vocal
exercises, pranayama, improvement in speech, diction and articulation.
EMOTIONAL MEMORY: Memory exercises for all such
instances and moments where you displayed your emotions. Re-enact all such
scenes of your life which are dramatic.
UNDERSTANDING NAVARASA: Shringaar, Karuna, Haasya,
Veer, Raudraa, Adbhut, Bhayanak, Veebhatsa and Shaant.
ACTOR’S OUTLOOK: Watch your moods and feelings
and produce them at your will.
OBSERVATION: Observe different people and their
behaviour in different circumstances and note their peculiarities and
idiosyncrasies.
STUDY OF LITERATURE: Be aware of all the good and
great Indian and Foreign plays, novels and Cinema [A proper list shall be given
to you)

THEORIES : 1. Stanislavsky’s system and method Acting of Lee Strasberg 2.
Brechtian School of Acting. 3. Study of Natyashastra
GROUP EXERCISES AND GAMES: Scene Work- Scenes from
various plays to be enacted with co-actors.
IMPROVISATION – To create a scene yourself with other
co-actors, depicting a particular situation. Improves your thinking,
imagination & spontaneity. Group exercises help an actor to develop
abilities like listening, reacting, spontaneity, improvising, trusting,
different kinds of movement etc.
HOW TO PLAY A CHARACTER: Get into the skin and mind of
the depicted character
AROUSING YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND: By certain techniques
your subconscious mind can be tapped and all such emotions which do not get
manifested consciously can be drawn out which shall prove to be of great help
to an actor.
Self-Assessment: Rehearsals
will be recorded on camera and screening of the same will be done on premises
for self-assessment of the participants.
Language of Instruction: Hindi and English

Mr. Lalit Parimoo and his team.
Mr. Lalit Parimoo is a professional actor, working for over twenty
years on stage, radio, movies and television. He graduated from Delhi
University in the year 1985 with Political Science and since then has been
active as an Actor. He has so far appeared in over forty stage
plays,three hundred radio plays and more than sixty Television
Serials & Films. Although he has the capacity and talent to perform various
kinds of characters, which he has done in the past with considerable ease and
naturalness, the main forte where he excels extraordinarily is the characters
moulded in classical form. Influenced and a believer of the Method School of
Acting, he is a serious and disciplined actor and is undoubtedly one of the
finest talents available in the country. His work so far has been acclaimed and
appreciated highly both by the audience and the media.
He also sincerely believes in letting every individual learn the basics of acting , discover the actor within himself, feel like an actor and learn to use this craft as a means of self-development and make his own individual life better. An actor has an impact on the society, particularly the youth. It is the duty of an actor to have an ideal in front of him of an evolved human being, so that he can be a source of inspiration to the masses to lead a life of values and set high moral standards.
