Association
of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists worldwide has extremely successfully supported artists who, due
to a disability or illness, create their works using not their hands, but their
mouths or feet.
Over the years, a small fraternity of 18 mouth and foot
painters has developed into an Association that is active worldwide and is
currently represented in 74 countries of the world with 726 artists.
Formed
in 1956, the MFPA is an international,
for-profit association wholly owned and run by disabled artists to help them
meet their financial needs. Members paint with brushes held in their mouth or
foot as a result of a disability sustained at birth or through an accident or
illness that prohibits them from using their hands.
'Self-help, not charity is our motto'. The association reproduces its artists’ original
paintings as unique greeting cards, calendars and a wide range of other
products, which brings vital, financial security to its artists.
The purpose of IMFPA is to:
·Make contact with people who are either artists who have
lost the use of their hands and/or legs through accident or illness and who paint
with the brush held in the mouth or between the toes; or disabled people wish
to learn to paint and support themselves through the sale of their work.
·Take care of its artists’ interests by helping them to
sell their work, primarily in the form of reproductions as greetings cards,
calendars and other artwork.
You can support the cause by introducing this organization
in your company to arrange the presentation of their products and I am sure
your company and you would be amazed to see the quality of paintings and
greeting cards done by these artists.
