IP Facilitation Center, Venture Center, Pune invites
you for a seminar
Present talk will cover an overview of the European
Patent Practice, including issues relating to the Patenting of Computer
Software by IP expert John Brunner who is Partner at Carpmaels & Ransford,
a leading Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys Firm in London. Specializing in
computer- and telecommunications-related technology, software and business
methods, John has been highly successful in obtaining valuable patents for a
variety of software and IT businesses.
Most countries place some limits on the patenting of
invention involving software, but there is no legal definition of a software
patent. There is intense debate over the extent to which software patents
should be granted, if at all. This is an area where patent protection in Europe
is increasingly desirable, but fraught with difficulty.
Another highlight of the talk will be answers to FAQs
in Intellectual Property Transactions by Simon Keevey- Kothari who is an
associate at Carpmaels & Ransford, a leading Patent & Trade Mark
Attorneys Firm in London. Simon’s extensive experience with the IP aspects of
research and development means he is particularly well placed to assist clients
in relation to contracts surrounding research projects and technology-related
legal issues.
